My opinion on the English program.
I think the English program is accessible in the sense of leveling language levels with other classmates, that is i think, me level of english is basic, but thanks to all classes, i think, i learned a little more of vocabulary.
The classes in general seemed good and with a pleasant atmosphere. The teacher is very didactic and enthusiastic is quite pleasant, much more than other teachers, always put music to fill the void that leaves the silence and that i really like, always answers to all the doubts of the students and is very punctual at the time of beginning of classes, that more can be requested, the classes and the teacher are good in general.
The topics we write and we talk in class seem very interesting, so much that i realized things i did not know, such as the amount of pollution i do on the planet and the tour of London was very interesting as well, the subjects of the organization "Ni una Menos" very current and politic.
The use of the blog is not complicated for me the truth i had never used it, but over time i got used to it a little more and it great because it gives us freedom of opinion and we can read the opinion of others.

Respect the environment
The theme of recycling in Chile is something that I see very far from what really happens. If people don´t even respect animals, much less respect the environment! I think that the Chilean people see the issue of recycling as an unnecessary issue for society, since society is more concerned with getting daily bread and having money for basic expenses; that is the main point for people in general, paying rent, paying bills, having money to eat, etc.
In my way, I recycle the trash at home, I separate the plastic from the metal, and separate the paper into different bins, leave the glass bottles and tanks at the nearby dumps of Coaniquem, a foundation for burned children, they collect glass in their big dumpsters that are sometimes in the streets.
All this illusion of recycling the trash of my house ends when the garbage truck pass near my house and made all the trash together and mixed on the road.
Here in Chile there is a very little diffusion of recyling and the trucks are for garbage in general, there are no garbage trucks classified, so there is only hope that someday people evolves in the conscience for the environment.

Discrimination in Chile!
To start talking about racial discrimination to the foreigners in Chile, who had mostly come from Haiti, Peru and Colombia, we must talk about the reality of the country.
I have friends that are teachers and they have told me that, at least, the half of their students are foreigners. That show us that the number of immigrants is increasing day by day in our county and I think that the issue of discrimination is given more by subject of the socio-cultural status of somebody than by where this person comes from, I mean that when the cultural legacy of somebody is higher than the common people, they often discriminate against you. Just knowing more than others, or having a different way of thinking is enough for being discriminated.
It is difficult to socialize with ignorant people, with people who think that brute force predominates more than the mind, and unfortunately the money society is like that. If you do not have studies, you are a worker, a cheap labor for business owners with a high social status, and they discriminate against you because of that.
To have less culture than another person should not affect in social treatment, but if it does.
But there is also another type of discrimination, the economic discrimination. There are many people who discriminate the other only because they are poor, the wealthy people discriminate against the poor people. The rich discriminate against the poor, the thin people discriminate against the fat, and the poor discriminate against the rich.
There is no acceptance in people when the neighbor is very different, this discrimination comes from our ancestors indians. When humanity had tribes instead of society, they met either because of their physical similarity or similar thinking.
Without a doubt discrimination is a setback in humanity, only leads us to form tribes, to disunity, leads us to war between us. I do not stop thinking that the issue of discrimination is a strategy of the powerful to keep the people in a constant war, thus keeping us busy killing each other, not thinking that we really must kill discrimination.

Chile Bilingue
I think that I am part of a generation of transition, because I was born in the late 80's.
My generation, in general, is a mixture between the handwork and technology. The same happens with the language, for my generation is much more difficult to integrate to this new bilingual Chile, but this does not happen to young people who were born from 2000 onwards, they are much linked to the technology and, so that, more linked to another language.
Nowadays for necessity issues, as controlling the technology and new computer programs, we have been forced to learn English, as the new generations.
In the case of education in Chile, with the reform of 2011, all study programs are obligated to impart the English language as an obligatory Subject of the new reform.
For example, my father is a 59 years-old-man who does not know anything about English, because in his times the study programs did not include the English language as obligatory subject, and for all the generation of "old parents" too. Even, I dare to say that 90% of people of that generation do not know English. Of course, this is only my opinion.
This reality of the language in Chile has changed over the time, because of the massive arrival of technology, immigrants and new programs of education, I think that, 50% of young Chileans between the ages of 20 and 30 know English or, at least, handles a few of the language.
I think that English in Chile has not good quality, but as the education and technology has grown, the English has improved greatly these last decades and I hope it continues improving, since this language is a very useful tool to globalize our culture.

Trump the new Hitler?
U.S.A likes having the control of the world, and it practically rules each country of America.
Being Trump the new president of this nation, it is obvious that something has to change, it could be possible that the price of the dollar raises up, therefor everything that is basic for living would raise too and, as consequence, the cost of the life will raise too. Also it is possible that he will limit the foreigners' entrance to his country, and also it would begin the third World War against the Jews, well but all of these ideas are just speculations, and they may not be true at all. Also, it could be possible that this guy is sick and tired of so many Wars and chooses a better option.
The truth is that everything can happen! But, what could really change the world? The world's surrender to the Oil Companies, the World Banks and the Vaticano! They are who actually dominate the world, big powerful. They are who can really change the world, not the presidents.

My special song.
A song that has a meaning for me, is of a few French brothers' band who do rock metal, this band is called "Gojira".
Gojira is a band that has a short career path, but its songs have very much sociocultural content, especially this important song named "Global Warming". It is about the sense of the life, of the wrong thing that the humanity is because it does not have respect by the nature and its ecosystem.
The song talks about the global warming, of the destruction that generates the capitalism and its big industries with the smoke of the factories in the sky, the drought of the rivers for the Mines, the pollution of the ocean because of Oil Companies, in consequence, everything that the ambition of the human being carries out.
"Gojira" invites us to think on the consciousness of the life! What is the sense of having money, if it takes the destruction to us? The real sense of the life is to feel that your eyes are the glaciers, your heart the ocean and your flesh is the land. The real sense of the life is the absolute connection with the nature, the respect and the love for everything that surrounds us, for everything that was already before the humanity ruled the land.
This is a reflection of the French artists, which I share so much, with a very similar thought that I have before knowing this pretty band of rock metal.
I hope you like the song!

Ni una menos
"Ni una menos" is a collective cry against gender violence. It arose from the need to say
"enough femicide" because in Argentina every 30 hours a woman is murder just for being a woman. The call came from a group of journalists, activists,
artists, but grew when society endorsed and made a collective campaign. Thousands of people, hundreds of organizations across the
country, schools, members of all political parties joined to "Ni una menos". Because the request is
urgent and the change is possible, "Ni una Menos" settled in the public and political
agenda.
On June 3rd, 2015, at the Congress Square in Buenos Aires
and at hundreds of other squares around Argentina a multitude of voices, identities and
flags showed that "Ni Una Menos" is not the end of something but the
beginning of a new path. To this Argentine feminist movement, which began in the year 2015 and which is against all violence and attacks on women, joined different countries of Spain and Latin America.
I think it is very interesting that women come together and fight for the rights we all have, but nobody respect, because we live in society, that was created with violence from its beginnings; for that reason, violence is a natural reaction in the society.
I will always agree with any collective movement that is in favor of coexistence and good living because any movement that fights against repression and any kind of abuse, is good.
I do not pardon the violence in any way, but if you do not fight personally for your own life, nobody will do it for you.
A lot of education, a lot of social laws, but the world is still being a jungle where the stronger survives, at least life is like that in Latin America.

artist referent
Tanya Maluenda Toledo.
Her work is inserted in aesthetic investigation and the creation from the "Orfebrería" as a language linked to antrhopology and sociology, reflexion field and experimentation as sociocultural.
I like this artist because she was my workshop teacher during 4 years and is one of my references.
Working at the "Orfebrería" workshop with blowtorch, hammer, and embossing tools on a bronze plate of 2mm thick, 60cm. lenght and 20cm. width.
The bronze plate is fire in an oven at 200 Celsius degrees, to melt the metal before starting to work.
On a bed of warm pitch it's placed a bronze plate until all its banks are inmerse in the bed. Once inmerse all the bronze plate it's left to get cold.
When the bronze plate is already well held on the bed of pitch warmth it's applied with a blowtorch. Then start hammering the bronze plate, giving it shape with the tools and the hammer.
My job consists of human anatomy, I give human shapes to the metal with cold embossing technique on bronze. It began with faces exercises, as a sketch drawing, bringing the "Orfebrería" to a more sculptural degree.

Google web
It is an initial website search engine which is used to go anywhere and to find all the websites you want to, for example facebook what is also one of my favorite websites.
Google is my favorite website because I can see and search images, also because when I write a word it gives me assorted results of different images from different websites which is amazing because I can be hours surfing from one website to another searching for images. At the same time, those images give me inspiration for my work.

my expectations.
I would be graduated if it didn't depend on this subject, because this is the only one subject left of my career, and for that I'm studying English.
My expectation on this subject is to learn more about this world wide language because this is the language that almost everybody knows, or as some people say "the Capitalism's language", even though it has been difficult for me since my school days.
The only thing that I want know is to get good marks and stop being late in the academic system.

Presentation
Hi, my name is Mauricio Bustos, I'm 28 years old. I study Plastic Art at Universidad de Chile and my main workshop in the University is "Orfebrería". I like this workshop because I like creating metal masks.
An artist who influenced my work is my teacher Tanya Maluenda, who also supported me as well.
One of the most famous artists that everyone must know is the French artist, Marcel Duchamp. He was also known for being a chess player and for being a great influence for the pop movement in the XX century.
I like working with organic material, as metal, because, for me, it has an extra value, which is that this kind of material is from the earth and it belongs to the nature, where the creation of everything begins, and as raw material has the property of being noble and it gets an special meaning for being one of the most ancients professions in the human history.
